Oh no - You have gut dysbiosis!
Basically, your ratio of good to bad bacteria has become imbalanced, leading to a range of digestive disturbances such as bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and stomach cramps.
WHY AM I BLOATED?
The most common food’s that cause bloating as high fiber foods (such as lentils, onion’s and garlic) as well as, gluten and dairy. When they are not digested properly they can cause inflammation or excessive gas production which leads to abdominal discomfort.
I chat all things bloating on Episode #7 of the Empowered Hormone Podcast.
HEALTHY POO HABITS
You should be passing 1-3 formed bowel movements every day AND you should pass them easily, without the need to strain.
Based on your test results, your poo habits could use some work. There are many causes of loose stools (IBS-D), including parasites, dysbiosis, stress, parasites or inflammation.
IBS-C (constipation) can occur when we don’t have enough fiber (or don’t digest this fiber well), if we don’t drink enough water, have food intolerances or bacterial overgrowths.
WHY AM I GASSY?
HOW HIGH IS YOUR FIBRE INTAKE
The fiber you consume literally feed your microbes and without it they will perish. Your good gut flora feeds on foods like: Fruit, vegetables (especially onion, garlic, asparagus), nuts, seeds and legumes.
WHAT’S THE GO WITH ANTIBIOTICS?
Antibiotic intake is important to assess because each course you have will add to the damage that is incurred by your microbiome.
DID YOU KNOW – It can take your gut 1-2 years to restore good bacterial balance after a course of antibiotics.
STRESS AND YOUR GUT HEALTH?
Stress impact’s your digestion (slowing it down), and can also alter your microbiome – So make sure you are taking time out to do the things you love
